I am a novice fisherman and tying knots is not easy for me. This tool makes it easy to tie the knots. You can use lures. just do a search and you will find videos showing you how to do it. I liked this tool so much I bought a few for my friends.

Definitely my favorite fishing gadget now. Easy as pie to clip on to a belt loop of my jeans or shorts. and the retractor device is a perfect balance of good tension and retracting. Haven't used the knot tying gizmo on it yet because my hands are still dextrous enough to get 3wt knots fine. but I imagine it works just fine. Mostly just use the clippers and the retracting leash.

This is my third one of these because I keep dropping them in the water lol. These make tying knots a breeze especially when you're using tiny hooks for trout. You simply hold the hook and twist a bunch of times and make a clinch knot. It cuts up to a 10 lb line with ease after that it's better to use this just for tying knots and some bigger pliers for bigger lines. I have not used it yet for fly fishing but I will later on. Feels well made too which is of course one of the most important aspects.

My Dad loves this! He is getting up there in his age and has to use his reading glasses a lot to tie his lines but this tool really helped him out. A great gift for any dad who fishes!

A simple. compact fishing tool that allows you to tie nail knots with ease. sharpen hooks and clean up fishing eyes on flies that have been over varnished! Throw in a nice zinger for retaining the device and you've got a winner! Highly recommend

Yes. that's the only reason I bought this tool for was the nail knot jig. It makes excellent quality knots. I've yet to find a knot that holds better when splicing braid & flouro/mono together that the nail knot splice. It's been used for hundreds of years and for good reason. I use a nail knot in one form another 99 percent of the time. I've pulled 80+ pound cats from the bottom and never had one pull out once it's PROPERLY seated... The nippers are great for mono or flouro but do have a problem with braid. like most nippers. Everything else is perfectly fine...

Love this tool works great I always have it around my neck it helps that it's retractable for an in a rush kind of guy like my self I haven't used it to make a quick knot because I just have the preferred knots I use but the part you put the hook to is the best thing they thought of.

Convenient! Clipped on my vest it made a lure change easy. Doubles as a hook remover. though I don't think it was designed for that.

I liked the fact the d ring on the end holds the hooks well. the hook tying aspect of it works but takes getting used to. Overall I would say for what's it's worth it's a good buy. Plus the built-in clippers work great.
